Today is a beautiful day on Gigha - bright winter sky, a frosty feel and no wind.  The contractors took great advantage of the lack of wind and have erected one windmill and well on the way to another.

Here we can see the huge crane lifting the sections of the turbine in place.  Remember we had to get the crane over to Gigha on our very own MV Loch Ranza ferry - no mean feat in itself.

 

 

 

 

cons2And here is one we put up earlier.  The telegraph poles give you some idea of th4e scale of the turbines, as does the 4x4 on the horizon.

And there they sit, nestling in amongst the countryside and the grazing cows.  Now all we have to do is plug them in and start pumping Gigha Power to the grid ...
