My name is Bethany Towns and I used to go to Gigha Primary School but I have just begun Campbeltown Grammar School (CGS) and I am really enjoying it.

It is tiring getting up at about 6.30-7.00 every day, but the journey on the ferry is fun and the bus is always waiting to collect us at the slip. It takes about 40 minutes on the bus and can get boring but you can chat to your friends and do other stuff like that.

The only worry I had was if I got stuck over but the school and your parents organise someone you can stay with. In the summer there is a 6.00 ferry and so it doesn't matter that much if you miss the 5.00 ferry. The ferry people will also ring up the school if the weather turns to bad for the ferry to run.

There isn't that much difference going from a small school to a big school but once you get used to the amount of people at the school it is fine.

All my teachers are really nice, and as long as we don't muck about they will make little jokes and don't mind you talking a little as long as you get on with your work.

There is a shelter which we can stand in at winter and because you get home at 5.30 you don't have to do house work. There is Tayinloan shop so if you feel a little hungry you can buy something.
