This garden is named after the head gardener who devoted 52 years of his life to the gardens (1918 -1970). Planted around the Quercus Cerres (Turkey Oak), this garden provides colour in a variety of ways throughout the year. The earliest Rhododendron such as Moupinense flower at the end of winter. Pieris Formosa Forrestii has brilliant flame red growth alongside it's lily-of-the-valley like flowers in April.
Rhododendron Elizabeth Dainty follows with its scarlet flowers, while the large groups of evergreen Azaleas create a lot of interest throughout the spring months. Autumn colour is provided from the Rowan and Enkianthus planted here.
